Christmas is approaching, and the villages surrounding Lake Trasimeno are colored with Christmas lights.
Here's a marathon of must-see markets for this Christmas 2022, from great and expected reconfirmations such as Christmas in Montepulciano and Lights on Lake Trasimeno, to new additions such as the markets at Barton Park.
Barton Park Special Christmas (25Nov - 08Gen)
We begin with an all-Perugina novelty, Christmas at Barton Park.
Starting November 25, for one month, the park will be transformed into a truly unique Christmas village! It continues from December 26 with food and wine stands until the end of the holidays (January 8).
On weekends it will be possible to participate in special events designed especially for families, with the educational farm and other activities.
In the heart of the park, not to be missed is Santa's house. A place where children can personally deliver their little letter
Christmas at Montepulciano (19Nov - 06Gen)
Every weekend until December 22, and then open every day until the epiphany (January 6, 2023), one of the most beautiful Christmas events is back: "Natale a Montepulciano".
Enchanting both the place and the passion of the organizers to prepare the Castle to welcome one of the most beautiful moments of the year.
Once again this year, the medieval Fortress of Montepulciano, is hosting "Santa's Castle." Large, imposing, majestic, with many rooms that can be visited indoors, festively decorated and full of surprises, it is able to truly amaze everyone, children as well as adults. Visitors can discover where Santa Claus lives with his elves, they can visit the magic kitchen, the study, the bedroom, the elves' bedrooms, the winter garden where the reindeer rest, ride on the magic sleigh, and then the mythical throne room, where they can meet the master of the house, the "real" Santa Claus", and then mail their letters in the fairy contraption. The fun is guaranteed! In the Castle's garden, it will be possible to take a ride on docile ponies or enjoy a wide range of street food with sweet and savory specialties, inside the equipped and covered area.
Luci sul Trasimeno (08Dic - 08Gen)
"Luci sul Trasimeno", the big event that has been repeated on Lake Trasimeno for two years now. From the village of Castiglione del Lago it is possible to see a Christmas tree on the water. As the sun goes down, the bulbs of a "floating" tree over 1,000 meters long and 50 meters wide are lit; the village becomes a wonderful Christmas Town with Christmas markets and local products.
Arezzo City of Christmas (19Nov - 08Gen)
It's less than an hour from Lake Trasimeno, but the Christmas markets in Arezzo are now an impossible-to-miss must-see. Tyrolean Village, Brezen, Santa's House, merry-go-rounds and Ferris wheel, markets and lights...lights everywhere! Whether you are Christmas lovers, or pro Grinch, you are sure to have a good time in Arezzo.
